He is best known for his young adult fiction series, Tomorrow, When the War Began, which has been adapted into a feature film and television series. He has also written several other novels, including So Much to Tell You, The Rabbits, and The Head Book.
Early Life
John Marsden was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1950.
He attended Geelong Grammar School, where he was a boarder. He then went on to study at the University of Melbourne, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History. After graduating, he worked as a teacher at Geelong Grammar School and then at a number of other schools in Victoria.
Writing Career
In 1989, Marsden published his first novel, So Much to Tell You.
The book was a success and won several awards, including the Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award. This was followed by the Tomorrow, When the War Began series, which was published between 1993 and 1999
