    A few years ago, Kay Pollak’s debut film, Elvis, Elvis (which was about a woman who named her son after the rock star) revealed a talented Swedish director who seemed to understand the mysterious ways of teenage ambiguities.

    Mr. Pollak’s perusal of this milieu is further defined in his latest film, Children’s Island, but he is now concerned with pre-teenage confrontations with an adult world.
