Wesley Wales Anderson is an American filmmaker, writer, and producer known for his commercial and short film projects.
He was born on May 1, 1969, in Houston, Texas, USA. Anderson grew up in a family of three brothers, with his father, Melver Leonard Anderson, working in the advertising business and his mother, Texas Anne Burroughs, being a former archaeologist turned real estate agent.
Anderson attended Westchester High School and St. John's School, a private institution in Houston which later became the filming location for his second film, "Rushmore".
